Hi Friends, in this Post, We’ll Explain the Experience of using Mi A1 Mobile Phone which is Launched Recently in Partnership with Google. Mi A1 will come out with the Latest Google One & it would be the First one to get the Android Latest Updates.

My Order Experience:

I had 100 from Phonepe Referral, I thought to use that along with SBI Card, and Got Rs. 100 Phonepe Wallet Cash Returned, It costed me Rs. 13,409/- in Flipkart’s Big Billion Day with 10% SBI Offer.

Flipkart’s Delivery:

As Big Billion Day Sale was going on, I had kept my hopes low on expected delivery date on Flipkart, but it came as promised on 4th Day of ordering. Pretty good Thing from Flipkart.

My Past Mobile Phones Experience:

I have been using Smartphones since last 4.5 years from 2.3 Gingerbread to 7.1.2 Nougat. I had owned Galaxy Ace, Micromax A87, Huawei Y511, Redmi 1s, Mi4 & Redmi Note 3.

The First Impressions on Mi A1:

The packaging the Mi A1 Mobile Phone came in was quite good, no big boxes, just big enough to accommodate the phone.

I opened the Box and in came the Mi A1 Box with lots of Specifications written over it. I opened up and saw the Beautiful Black Mi A1 Phone resting beneath the box. I went to see what’s inside and there was a Sim Ejector Tool, Leaflets, a Big Charger and a Type C Cable. (Big charger as it can resist up to 380v, confirmed by Xiaomi). I booted the phone up with rainbow boot animation. I quickly had set it up and a Update was awaiting my presence there.

Pros:

Looks: One Word, Beautiful. Sleek, Fits in Hand Comfortably and Black one Steals the show. The Antenna Lines & Camera on top gives it a iPhone 7 Plus ish kind of Look. There are Two Screws beside the Type C port indicating a sturdy build and helps the Port stay at its place in case of Drops. The phone also has all the necessary Sensors along with Fingerprint at the back, which is at a good position to be Unlocked (Samsung Note 8 owners Triggered**) and has IR Blaster at top. It also has a Compass Sensor & Notification LED.

Display: The Display is 5.5 inch and is good for everyday usage. The 2.5D glass on top looks pleasing and smooth feel. The colors are good, the display is mot much warm and packs in punchy colors.

Internals: It holds the Xiaomi’s favorite, Snapdragon 625 in with 4 GB of Ram and 64 GB of Storage of which 58.24 is usable. I feel like it is good enough for everyday usage and can perform even some heavy tasks easily, 1/2 frame drops in games and rest it can handle anything thrown at it. About Heating, there was actually no heating at all, it was around 45 at max but never crossed that.

Audio: It came as a surprise for me. The speaker is placed on the bottom with Headphone Jack & mic on opposite side and Type C port in the center. The sound from the Speaker is great, which I never thought a Single speaker would do. The Audio via the 3.5mm Headphone jack (It’s still there) is amazing. I did try out some JBL Over the Head Earphone (Not that heavy) but was great.

Battery: I was a bit skeptical about battery first, but after using it for a few days, I got great results. It gave me 8 hours of SCREEN ON TIME on continuous usage and of around 6 hours on a full day. It charges from 1-100% in 2 hours and 10 minutes which is a bit long for this size battery but I am okay with that. Now I need a Type C to Type A pin to use it outside my home

Camera: The Thing for which this device was Hyped about. And it’s true, The Portrait Mode is great and can take some breathtaking shots with Tele photo lens. Regular shots with wide angle lens are a bit warm, but Details come out clearly, with pretty accurate colors. Slow motion Bug has been fixed with September Security patch, 4K recording support is there. Missing 1080p & 60fps support.

Android One Experience: As this device doesn’t run on MIUI, It comes under Android One belt with 2 years of Support from Google. Ram management is great, Split Screen, Multitasking, Quick Switch & other Android Features work as they should have. I am looking towards this initiative for a better User experience, as not all the Xiaomi users really liked the Xiaomi’s UI – MIUI.

Cons:

Camera: Why Camera again? In low light, the camera is not the best. There is some noise and loss of details here and there. And as we have f/2.6 Tele photo lens, Using Portrait in low light is a bit difficult task. The Front Camera Pictures seem Soft & a bit Unnatural, expecting a Fix here. There is no EIS Support & Camera2api is not Enabled which can be Fixed with a Simple Software Update.

User Interface: Yes, you Read UI. Because it’s Complete Stock, No Subs Support, No Google Dial-er & Contacts (AOSP ones are Present) and Pretty much Plain. It also has all the GAPPS bundled which might not be in use for all the People (Call it Bloat). It might be because I moved from a Feature Packed MIUI to bare bones Stock.

Final Verdict: It’s clear that device is one of the best in under 15k category, with Xiaomi’s partnership with Google, and O update till the end of this year, It’s a great device for people expecting a VFM device with Stock android and Great Camera. Yes, there are some minor areas left untreated, but they all can be fixed via a Software Update, Hopes on that now.
